To the 2008-2009 EHS Band Boosters & Officers

What a year!  …what …a …year!  This school year has been filled with both enormous pleasure and pain for all affiliated – students, staff, officers and parents.  I personally experienced both emotions almost daily while attempting to lead this group. ‘Pleasure’ to be associated with a fine group of parents and students; ‘Pain’ to see that it must come to and end. ‘Pleasure’ to see such hard work from both the students, officers and parents during band camp; …and ‘Pain’  – well…, ask the ‘band campers’ about that one. ‘Pleasure’ to see a show “Countdown begins…” that contained such wonderful formations, awesome drill and music; ‘Pain’ to witness that the judges just didn’t GET IT!!….or, see what we did at Lucas Oil – #3 all the way! ‘Pleasure’ to witness soooo many fundraisers assist those who were inclined to participate; ‘Pain’ that we [I…] didn’t reach the mark of taking every kid to Ireland fully PAID.  ‘Pleasure’ to bond with the parents and kids – and call them all FRIENDS; ‘Pain’ to realize that the 2009 Senior [and their parents] are finished – leaving for a new adventure …for the rest of their lives – we will miss you!

 

I want to thank the EHS Booster Officers for ‘08/’09 – Maryann Williams, VP; Bliss Isom, AVP; Vickie Fry, Tres.; Cathy Martin, A.Tres.; Beth Sewell, Sec.; Bethany Phillips, Website and Bonnie Richmond, Trip Coordinator.  I want to thank the MOMS and the DADS who helped at band camp; before, during and after practices and competitions; chaired committees and fundraising initiatives; who worked their tails off, and those who for whatever reason could only lend this program your child/student/performer. To all, Thank you…

 

The Edgewood High School Performing Arts program under the direction of Mr. Aaron Wells, is a program to be reckoned with. It is receiving both state and national recognition, and accolades unmatched by most groups this size or even bigger.  It is the character, drive and dedication of the EHS parents, the students and the staff that make this the world-renown program that it is………  DON’T STOP NOW!!

 

Thanks for a good year and for your love and support!  May 2009-10 be the best year ever.
